We are happy to introduce Nida Troyer, Sojourner's newest board member. Nida brings valuable experience in digital strategy, business, and technology innovation to the board. Her commitment to ending domestic violence and supporting survivors aligns perfectly with Sojourner's mission. Welcome Nida!
What background do you bring to Sojourner?
I work as a Product Manager at World Kinect Energy Corporation, a fortune energy company in land, marine and aviation segments. As a Product Manager I specialize in implementing the organization’s digital strategy primarily through convergence of multiple digital products across business segments. Prior to becoming a Product Manager, I worked as a software engineer at the same company. I am in the final year of my part-time MBA program at the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management. I have a graduate degree in Computer Science from Bradley University (cum laude) in Peoria, IL, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (summa cum laude) from India.
In my free time, I like to host/cook, travel, watch tv and spend time with my family (I have a two-year-old who keeps me occupied!).
Why did you decide to join Sojourner’s board?
My organization has had a long-standing relationship with Sojourner (that’s how I was introduced to Sojourner). And over the years I have gotten to know a few amazing women who’d been victims of domestic violence. Joining the board allows me to use my skills and experiences through Sojourner to influence positive change in the community, raise awareness, support essential services, and work alongside others who are equally passionate about ending domestic violence and empowering survivors.
What do you want people to know about the work Sojourner does?

I am proud to share that Sojourner offers not just a safe haven but also essential services, including counseling, advocacy, and life skills training, empowering women to rebuild their lives. Sojourner is committed to raising awareness about domestic violence and empowering women with the resources they need to heal and rebuild.
