Get Involved

Sojourner has positively impacted the lives of thousands of victims of violence and abuse since 1979. We provide program participants, adults and children, with information and resources needed to reclaim their safety and stability. All Sojourner services are provided free of charge. Community support is an essential component to all that is achieved, by both the victim and our organization. The combined generosity of businesses, faith communities, private foundations, groups, and individuals helps us provide needed services. Please consider supporting Sojourner in whatever way you can, in any way you can - THANK YOU!

Other Ways to Give

Become a Monthly Donor

Consistent gifts of any amount help build a stable foundation for our programs. Many of our monthly donors give between $5 and $150 each month, and together, those contributions add up to real impact. Monthly giving is one of the most powerful ways to provide steady support all year long. Start today!

Double Your Donation with Employer Matching

Many employers will match charitable contributions, instantly multiplying the impact of your gift. Check with your HR representative to see if your company participates in a matching program. If you’d like help exploring this option, reach out to us. We’re happy to assist.

Give Through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you’re age 70½ or older, you can make a donation directly from your IRA (Individual Retirement Account) to Sojourner without paying income tax on that amount. For donors age 73 or older, this contribution also counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). A QCD is a smart and tax-efficient way to support survivors. Learn more here.

Recommend a Grant from Your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

A Donor-Advised Fund is like a charitable savings account for giving. If you already have a DAF supporting Sojourner is easy:

  1. Log in to your DAF account.

  2. Search for Sojourner Project. Tax ID Number: 41-1363580

  3. Recommend a grant in your desired amount and, if you wish, include a note with your gift.

Your DAF sponsor will send the funds directly to Sojourner on your behalf, a simple, flexible way to make a lasting impact.

Have questions about any of these giving options? Please call the Development Director at 952-351-4067 or email development@sojournerproject.org.

Tribute Gifts

If requested, Sojourner will designate your donation as a tribute to honor the memory of a loved one or celebrate a special occasion. Simply provide their name and address with your gift, and we will mail tribute information as well as a donor acknowledgment. Email development@sojournerproject.org with any questions regarding your tribute gift.

Holiday Giving & In-Kind Donations

It's the season of giving!

Each December, Sojourner hosts a Holiday Boutique, where parents can choose gifts for their children and receive self-care items and gift cards for themselves. You can help make the holidays brighter by donating through our Holiday Boutique Wishlist. We also have an Amazon registry and Target registry for easy, appointment-free donations.

Your generosity helps families feel seen, valued, and cared for during a stressful time of year.

Donation drives and group projects are a wonderful way to get involved, have fun and give back. Examples include: holiday boutique gifts, welcome bag assembly, paper product drives, cleaning supply drives, bedding or pajama drives and baby supply drives. Our Donation Drive Toolkit will make it easy and simple for you to host a drive.

Sojourner accepts ALL cell phones, iPads and iPods with or without accessories. Phones in good shape can be used for 911 phones and even broken ones can be turned into cash for our programs through our partner SmartPhone Recycling.

For additional questions, drop-off appointment scheduling or donation drive planning, please call 952-351-4066 or email abigail@sojournerproject.org. Thank you for donating!

*Please note: Due to storage limitations, Sojourner pre-approves all in-kind donations and does not generally accept used household furniture, baby furniture, kitchen items or household electronics. We are not currently accepting used clothing. We also do not accept travel size items.*
