We’re thrilled to welcome Dan Wamre to the Sojourner Board! Dan brings decades of investment experience, leadership, and a deep commitment to giving back to the community.

A Background in Leadership and Finance
Dan is an Executive Director at Parametric, leading a team of investment professionals who design, trade, and manage overlay portfolios. With over 30 years of experience helping clients and consultants manage portfolio exposures and risk through futures and options-based strategies, Dan combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills.
Before joining Parametric, Dan served four years as a platoon commander and executive officer in the United States Marine Corps. After graduate school, he worked as a commercial banking credit analyst for US Bank in Minneapolis. He earned a BS from North Dakota State University and an MBA in finance from the University of Minnesota. Dan is also a CFA charterholder and an active member of the CFA Society of Minnesota.
Why Sojourner?
As recent empty nesters, Dan and his wife Carmen began exploring ways to give back through volunteering and nonprofit board service. A professional connection introduced Dan to Sojourner, and he was immediately impressed by the mission and guiding principles of the organization. He felt his investment background could complement the Board’s work while helping him contribute to the community in a meaningful way.
Why the Work Matters
“Providing a supportive environment, counseling, and legal advocacy for those in need is an extremely important endeavor helping to keep communities safe and flourishing,” Dan says. “Sojourner identified a need and strives to serve the public with humility and grace. Minnesota in general, and the Twin Cities specifically, fosters a philanthropic spirit and a strong sense of community. Sojourner is a shining example of well-intentioned people coming together and harnessing their talents to provide a very important service in the community.”
A Fun Fact
After years of keeping up with their children’s busy schedules, Dan and Carmen are now enjoying a slower pace of life filled with working out, traveling, and spending time at their cabin.
We’re excited to have Dan on the board and look forward to the insight, experience, and energy he brings to supporting Sojourner’s mission.
